More proof that Sandy will spare no expense to make sure the Osborne family have all the comforts of home, even on the short row from shore to ship. By installing a loo on Kumari's tender, Sandy has eliminated one more of the many inconveniences of cruising with the fitting of a deluxe TendaPotti (Pats Pend), shown here being installed on the Wee Pier [sic]. Always ahead of the game, however. can it be long before the rest of the fleet follow suit? It will be some time before any can boast more than one loo, let alone the choice of three currently afforded to the lucky Kumaris, although on past form a spare loo or two might be prudent. Where will it all end up? (in the sea probably...)

“EILEAN DUBH”

Eilean Dubh (pronounced Ail-ann Doo) is the gaelic for Dark Island

and is currently ashore in Ullapool, Northwest Scotland.

The mast has been re-stepped after inspection and fettling of its

electrics, the topsides have been freshly re-painted, the electronics

refitted and tested and she is now ready for launching and sailing

away with her new owners.

The yacht is set up for single-handed sailing, if required, but is

perfectly comfortable with 3 or 4 aboard...with plenty of locker

space for gear and stores.

The present partnership has sailed her extensively since buying

and refitting her in 1998 (with continuous improvements, renewals

and replacements over the years).

North to the Faeroes, via Fair Isle, with other trips to Orkney...

South to Fastnet (including 2 circumnavigations of Ireland)...

East from Inverness, via Wick and across the top, around Cape

Wrath to new home base of Ullapool on her delivery trip...

West to St Kilda...several times (though the Blaskets are further

west, St Kilda is where the Roughie-Toughie Romantics are

always drawn!)

And, of course, the whole of the finest cruising area in the British

Isles...the West Coast of Scotland with all its nooks and crannies.
